The project
A bespoke website for Lau Konge Gartneri. An earlier version used Next.js and React for a visitor-focused homepage, contact and directions. More recent work uses a custom WordPress theme with plant pages and a WooCommerce-based catalogue.
Implementation
The design prioritizes clear plant information and pickup details. The WordPress implementation introduces seasonal plant organisation and a Click & Collect-only workflow, with no delivery option. This is a reminder to match a system to how the real business actually operates.
Lessons from the evolution
The technical approach has changed as the business needs became clearer. A nursery benefits more from maintainable plant content, seasonal information and a simple collection process than from maintaining a frontend stack for its own sake.
